The winery WELTACHS has been found in 1987 as a new part of our family winery

Our mild climate together with the soil, consisting of loam, weathered limestone, brings out some of Germanys
best recognised white and red wines. Our area is very well known for its red and rose wines, which is very
unusual for Germany. We produce about 55% white and 45% red wines. Together with some 110 contracted
vintners we plant about 275 ha of vineyards.
The winery itself provides a capacity of 4.800.000 litres in stainless steal. No wooden barrels or plastic tanks
are used in our winery. Hygiene is one of the most respected manner and our responsibility in producing high
quality wines. We also provide all machines to process the wine from the berry to the bottle.
The name WELTACHS was chosen because of our tide relation to our area and traditions. A famous local poem
writer with the name “Paul Münch“ once wrote a poem called „Die Weltachs“ (literaly translated: the axle of the world).
This poem reflects the close relationship between the area of the PFALZ and the people been proud to live in it.
